Printed on cream chine appliqué on wove paper. Light but numerous scattered foxing; small remains of paper tapes on back. Small margins (sheet: 145 x 205 mm).
According to Dirk van Gelder, La Sainte Famille à la perche (The Holy Family with a Fishing Pole) dated 1858 and La Sainte Famille au bord d’un étang dated 1865 may have been used as models by Odilon Redon when Rodolphe Bresdin was teaching him etching and lithography.
