Trial proof on thick wove paper of a rare state before the only state described by Wentworth: this state is before the American and British flags in the lower part, and has some scratches made by Tissot in  drypoint. Signed and dated in drypoint: JJ TISSOT 1881.

Very fine impression, with burr. Slight undulation of the sheet of paper; browning on the back and a few foxmarks in the upper margin. A small crease in the lower part of the subject. Small margins (sheet: 680 x 350 mm).
